It saves the levels on to the cartridge but you can also save to tape/disk if you need more than the 17 slots. The Cart version also includes a level editor for making your own levels which replace the internal levels until the cartridge is reset. Still, I believe the disk version plays a little faster. I probably have should have played this cart version in ntsc as I don't know if it had a worldwide release. The game is a little slower than the disk version as well. Also If i play as badly as I have here, the game would be 8-10 hours long!! I believe the Tape version was released in both 16 and 150 level versions. I am left wondering if anything happens if completing 150 levels on this cart version though. The Disk version contains 150 levels but that's way to much for me and would lose interest long before completing. Once completed the levels roll over and the game goes on and on. This is the cartridge release of the game which contains only 17 unique levels.
